Happy Birthday Liam!  We are so thankful that God brought you here to our class!

During Jesus time we reviewed the story of them men who ran to tell others that Jesus is alive!

He is alive!

During small group time we expressed what we have learned about birds through a painting.

With Mrs. Dohrman we extended the rolling and counting game as we wrote the number we counted.

The friends practiced recognizing letters and their sounds with a popcorn game.

They also strengthened their visual discrimination skills with an iSpy puzzle!

Praise God for the concrete that is being poured under our shade structure!

After we checked out the concrete we went on a short bird walk.

We played some relays too!

After we played the relays, we went to check on the nests in the front of the building.  Sadly, we found a dead bird.  We discussed that things die.  However, because we know that Jesus is our Savior, we will live forever in heaven with Him!

We went to go get gloves and a box to bury the bird.  We discussed multiple times that only adults with gloves on can touch birds because of the diseases that they can carry.

We invited Pastor Matt into our classroom to discuss some of our questions about death.  He shared with us that because of sin, everything dies.  However, because of Jesus' death and resurrection we will live forever with Him as we await the second coming of Christ!

(As Pastor Matt talked to the friends, I buried the bird outside of our classroom.)

The friends decided to make name labels and crosses for the bird.  We used what we have learned about letters and their sounds to make the labels.

Friend: "How do you write tweet?"

Me: "What letter do you hear? T-T-Tweet."

"I think this is the kind of bird that died."

"This cross reminds us that Jesus died and rose again so we can be with Him forever!"

Bird play :)

Reading about birds

Working together in the blocks

We attached our labels to a post to mark the bird's grave.  We added our crosses in the ground as a reminder of Jesus' gift of salvation through His death on the cross and resurrection.

We spent time outside enjoying the beautiful weather!

Back in the classroom we painted signs for the Week of the Young Child next week!
