Ice skating in the hallway was a fun way to start our day!

Party time!

Movie time!

Merry Christmas!

Thursday, December 20, 2018

This morning during Jesus time we reviewed all that we have learned about the Christmas story.  It is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of Christmas, but we take a moment to pause and reflect on all God has done for us!

Outside time

Our school sang for the Ladies Circle from Our Shepherd today.  :)

Free choice time

The friends help clean the messes that they make.  This increases responsibility and independence. :)

The friends had an elaborate play scenario today.  Many of the friends were involved!  When many children are involved in a singular play scenario, this is a sign of deep rich play.

This morning in chapel Pastor Matt shared with us that we might be tempted to think that Christmas is all about presents, cookies, and candy.  However, we know that we celebrate Christmas because our Savior was born!

Our friends love to play school!

"We are all real teachers."

Drawing and creating

After free choice time, we went "ice skating" in the hallway.

Look how the friends are holding hands as they are ice skating. :)

Mr. Mark Borcherding joined in on the fun!

Back in the classroom Mrs. King taught us about stopping sounds and keep going sounds.  She is helping us learn how to form our sounds.  This is not only important for speech, but also important  we learn the sounds of the letters and sound out words.

We used stopping sounds and keep going sounds to blow a puff ball.

Mrs. King also worked with us to help us shape our mouths correctly for the sounds.

This morning during Jesus time our puppet friend Zippy came to visit.  He was so excited to tell everyone about upcoming birthday! That reminded us of how excited the shepherd were so excited to share the good news that our Savior has been born!

After Jesus time we discussed what we can do when someone hurts our feelings.  These are the solutions we found.

We practiced our program today too!  Please drop your child off in our classroom at 6:15.

We then made Reserved signs for the classes and hung them in the sanctuary.

During afternoon free choice one of the friends noticed that a marker was dried out.  She had an idea to put it in water to make it work again.  We tried it out, and it worked!
