Happy special person's day!

After Special Person's Day the friends helped change our classroom.

The friends are calling it "snow park."

They made signs to say "shoes go here" "socks go here" and "nobody wrecks the carpet."

Our friends are motivated writers!
This was a great opportunity for us to engage in meaningful writing, creative thinking, problem solving, and collaboration.

We made a list of what we needed for our Snow Park.

The friends wanted to make a snow tunnel.

"I want to make a sign for the snow tunnel."

The friends then made a sign for the snow park!

Pastor Matt led our devotions this morning!

We then went to the gym for a dance party!

The picture below was while we were waiting for the other classes to come into the gym.  For pictures and videos of the dance party, please check out our social media pages. :)  (My phone was used for music so I was unable to take pictures.)

Back in the classroom we discussed our favorite parts of the dance party.

We then sorted pennies and silver coins for the penny wars.

We were excited to take our pennies down to our jar.

Free choice time

"Everyone needs five cards.  Be sure to count carefully."

"Welcome to the barber shop!"

"I am investigating these rocks."

Thank you Mrs. Dieckamp for making us play dough!

"This weighs...let me see.  I see a three and a five."

Exploring the glitter, water, and corn kernels.

What an exciting day today!  We began our day with the pancake breakfast in the gym.

Mr. Mark Borcherding led our devotions this morning.

Then it was time to eat!

We often do silly things in the hallway to help us say quiet and respect those around us.  Sometimes we tiptoe and pretend that we don't want to wake a "bear."  Mrs. Abernathy, our awesome church secretary, picked up on this and bought a bear for her office to encourage us.  We love our church and school staff!

Back in the classroom, we graphed the favorite item that we ate during our special breakfast.

Donuts had the most votes!

The friends were excited to use the Uno table to play Uno today.  The friends regulated their game of Uno independently.  As they did, they were able to practice important social skills and teamwork!

Creation station work

"You can count this one. It's a ten.  I can count this one.  It's a four."

"I need a z.  Does anyone have a z?"

In the afternoon, the friends were all interested in surveying one another!

One of the friends surveyed everyone's favorite letter.
