We had a great Christmas program this morning!

We then went to the gym with our chapel buddies while our party helper set up for our awesome party!

Party time!

Thank you Mrs. Gore for all of your hard work to make our party a success!

After rest, we watched A Charlie Brown Christmas.  We remembered that we celebrate Christmas because Jesus was born to die on the cross and save us from our sins!

This morning we read Snowmen at Christmas.  There were some words that we didn't know in the book.  We made a list of those words and reviewed them throughout the day.

Books help expose young children (and older children and adults!) to new vocabulary.  Reading at home with your child is one of the most important things you can do for your child. Read more here.

Gym time!

The friends practiced self-regulation as we only used our feet as we played with the balls.  It was tricky, but with some adult support, the friends did it!

After gym time we went to sing for the Ladies' Circle.  The Ladies Circle is a group of women from our congregation.  They are always excited to see our students!

Free choice time

We read the Snowmen at Christmas book again. We noticed some new words.  We also wondered if snowmen eat snow.  This led to a discussion that increased our critical thinking skills.

"I think snowmen eat snow because anything else would make them melt."

"I think snowmen don't eat snow because they don't come alive."

Today Kyle Borcherding, our worship director and Vicar, led chapel!

He shared with us that Jesus loves us all the time.  He died on the cross and rose again to save us!

After chapel we took a minute to practice how we behave in chapel.  We reminded the friends that we don't pull on our chapel buddies arms, but sit so that others aren't distracted.  I encourage you to have your child show you at home!

Library time with buddies

(We did not check out books today due to Christmas break next week.)

During free choice time we made cards for the Avalanche crew here at Our Shepherd.  They work so hard to ensure our parking lot is safe! We delivered the cards to their church mailboxes.

We also built a tall tower with Ms. Marks!

Friday is Ms. Marks' last day with our class.  She took a job that gives her more hours, but she promised that she will come visit us!  Mrs Hedges is currently accepting applications for her position.

Happy snowy day!

Welcome back to the last week of school for 2019.

We began our morning with practice for our Christmas program.

Back in the classroom we problem solved with our chapel buddies to make a Christmas tree out of cups!

We wrote Christmas cards.

We also retold the true story of the birth of our Savior Jesus!

Free choice time

Our buddies stayed to play with us for a while!

"Dear Jesus, please let Mrs. Douglas' computer work."

The friends practiced writing the first letter in their name.  They then practiced the sounds of each of their friends' beginning letters.
