This morning Mr. Mark Borcherding led our special Holy Week devotion.  Jesus loves us so much that He died on the cross and rose again to save us!

During morning meeting we've been singing silly songs that increase our understanding of rhythm and rhyme.

What a great day on the hill!  It was pretty windy, but that didn't stop the friends!

During work time the friends made crosses for Easter!

They also worked together to retell the story of Easter.

"Check it out!  I did it!"

Welcome back!

We are excited to learn about Holy Week this week.  For this very special week, we will begin each day with a short devotion, prayer, and praise in the chapel.

Pastor Kyle Borcherding led our devotion today.  He shared with us about Palm Sunday and how Jesus came riding in on a donkey.  He died on the cross and rose again to save us from our sins!

During morning meeting the friends were so excited to share about their Spring Break adventures!  We had a rich discussion about what each friend did over break.  This not only increases our communication and social skills, but it also strengthens our classroom community!

After snack we went out to the hill.

We noticed that some of the bulbs we planted in the fall are almost blooming!

The friends were so excited to see a bird visit the hill!

We then went to work in the outdoor classroom.  We found a big worm!

"What does it eat?"

"I think leaves."

"Put a leaf there and see if it will eat it."

"It needs more mud.  Let's make a home for it with mud."

"I'm looking for more worms."

"Okay we have dirt and water.  Let's add some sticks too."

"No!  We don't want sticks to scratch the worm!"

"Oh okay.  Let's add more dirt!"

"We are building towers."

"If yours falls we win."

We then found another worm!

"He's a baby worm!"

"I bet the big one is his daddy."

After lunch we went out to the playground.

What a busy, but fun day!

Upon walking to our classroom we were greeted by Rocky the Ram!

Once in our classroom we were so excited for the pancake breakfast!  Thank you to all of the staff who cooked and delivered the food for us!

We then added our final coins and bills to the penny wars.

Outside time!

Back in the classroom it was time to work.

After lunch we were so excited to meet our creek expert!  She answered many of our questions!

The creek water was so high and moving so quickly from the rain yesterday!

We learned the difference of moss and algae.

We also learned where the creek goes - it moves south and goes all the way to Florida!

"I've been to Florida!"

"I am going to Florida tomorrow!"

During our visit, some middle school friends approached with a crawdad.

Our expert shared with us that crawdads live near creeks and ponds.

One of our questions was wondering what this hole is.  We found out that it is actually a crawdad hole!  God worked it our perfectly for the middle school friends to being a crawdad to us so that we can see what one is and learn about its' home.

We then noticed a large puddle of water in the woods.  We learned that this area of our woods is actually a wetland!  Frogs, salamanders, and crawdads live in this type of habitat.

Thank you Ms. Bri!  We look forward to your next visit!
