Monday, August 31

Welcome back to another great week of school.  This week we are learning about how Jesus is our Savior!  Our bible verse for the week is: "I, the Lord, am your Savior." Isaiah 60:16

This morning we played Doggy Doggy Where's Your Bone again to practice using our friends' names.

We observed the big moth again this morning and one of the friends brought a butterfly and moth book to show everyone.  The friends asked questions that include:

"Do butterflies eat and drink?"

"Do butterflies fly under trees?"

"Do butterflies die?"

One of the friends said, "Don't forget about moths too!"

It will be interesting to see how their interest in moths and butterflies guides our investigation!

We then read this book about a butterfly and a lamb!

Praise God for the beautiful weather this morning!

Playground work

We then went to the hill!

Mrs. Dieckamp was unable to be with us today, so Mrs. Kelley, our former art teacher, helped us this morning! We are so thankful for her help!

After snack we worked in the outdoor classroom to make our names.

We explored books about butterflies and moths.

We worked in the garden too!

We also wrote books.

Some of the friends enjoyed reading a cookbook.  The cookbook enhanced their play!

After lunch we practiced writing our names.

We explored counting concepts with chips and number tiles.

We explored the bugs and engaged in imaginative play surrounding the bugs.

We also read books about butterflies!

We then went on our nature walk using our nature journals for the first time.

While we were walking, we saw a butterfly!
