During chapel this morning our DCE intern, Mr. Marquardt, led us in reviewing the 23rd Psalm.  We know the Jesus was the sacrificial lamb for us through His death and resurrection on the cross!  Through Him, we have the precious gift of salvation!

Praise God for a beautiful day!

While outside we checked in on the mourning dove sitting on her eggs.  As we were watching her, we noticed a second nest with a second mourning dove sitting on her eggs!

Free choice time

The friends were excited to look for pictures of baby mourning doves to prepare for when the eggs outside hatch.

As we explore the bird seed we are also engaging our senses.  The more senses engaged in the brain, the more impact the experience has on cognitive development.

Building bird nests in the blocks

"Welcome to the bird show!  I hope you enjoy it."

The friends were sure that the birds attended the bird show too.  :)

"I made the three crosses like when Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins."

"I am making a thermometer for the bird eggs.  If they get too hot, they will die."

We found birds in books that match the pictures we have posted!

Second outside time

Second free choice

"Look at the city I built!"

During small group time we painted pictures of birds.

We also practiced cleaning because many friends struggled to clean during clean up time.  This is a logical consequence and will help the friends make a better choice in the future.

With me, the fiends continued to make posters in preparation of week of the young child.
