During Jesus time we sang praises to God for the best gift; the gift of salvation!

Thank you Mr. Anderson for reading to us in the library!

Gym time!

Free choice time

Red winged black birds were loving the bird feeders today!

There are many ways for children to express what they have learned.  Today was a great example of one.  The friends organized their own "bird show."  Friends took turns acting like a bird while the "audience" guessed what kind of bird it is.

The friends are learning so much through this activity!  They are learning social skills as they work together to make the show.  They are learning self-control as they wait for their turn.  They are showing their knowledge of birds as they act them out and make guesses.

"I hop hop hop on the ground."

(Robin)

"Cow cow cow"

(Cow bird)

"Chick-a-dee.  Chick-a-dee-dee-dee"

(Chickadee)

"Peck peck peck"

(woodpecker)

"I made nests on the ground."

(killdeer)

"Whoo whoo whoo"

(owl)

"I am black with red wings"

(red winged blackbird)

"I am red and I am the state bird."

(cardinal)

Outside time

"Come on the train!  All aboard!"

During second free choice the friends did another bird show!

During second small group time we practiced letter recognition, the sounds of the letters, and correct letter formation.

With Mrs. Helmkamp we hung up the birds we have been working on.  We also made labels for them!

We read books with Mrs. Lipsey.
