Happy Friday!

Don't forget to look through the other posts from the week. :)

We had a great week together!

This morning on the playground, Mr. Hedges came to fix a few things on the playground.  The friends were excited to help him!

Thank you Mr. Hedges!

Working in the outdoor classroom

"Look at my muscles!"

During small group time the friends continued to practice and explore counting and number recognition.

During free choice time some friends wanted to create a game.  I asked them how we were going to keep everyone safe in the game.  They began to say the rules, and I suggested that we write them down so that we don't forget them.  Once we wrote the rules, we posted them in the classroom to refer back to them as we play the game.

The friends are reading the books that we made for our class.  They are helping each other point to the words, track from left to right, and use the predictable text to gain confidence in their skills.  These are all important pre-reading skills!

"I am the cooker.  What do you want to eat?"

We have created a classroom community.  As I was working with the friends, I noticed two friends enjoying a book together.  We have created a classroom community that loves each other!

Praise God for a beautiful day!

Outside time

The outdoor classroom provides opportunities for open ended exploration.

During small group time we continued to play with counting and number recognition.

Mark Borcherding led us in worship this morning.

Today we celebrated July and August Baptism birthdays.  If you are interested in Baptism or having your child Baptized, please let me know.  I would be happy to provide more information.

What a beautiful day together outside!

During small group time the friends continued to practice counting using one to one correspondence. They also practiced recognizing numbers.  Some friends practiced putting two amounts together to make a bigger amount.

Free choice time

"I sorted the colors."

In the blocks the friends are learning valuable skills including problem solving, spatial awareness, and persistence.

Look how we are refining our fine motor skills through our creations.

"Would you like some pancakes?  They are yummy in your tummy!"
