What a beautiful day outside!  We are so thankful to being each day outside exploring God's creation together.

During small group time we made popcorn and graphed whether we liked the popcorn or not.

"I hear it sizzle!"

"Why is it not popping?"

"Listen!  I think I hear a pop!"

With Mrs. Marks we explored letters, words, and letter sounds.

Tasting the popcorn

Graphing our responses to whether we like popcorn with salt or not.

During free choice time we explored a popcorn maker.

"This is how it spins!"

"How does it get hot?"

"The plugger makes it hot!"

"Popcorn for sale!"

"Look!  The pan is getting hot and the popcorn is popping!"

During Jesus time we learned the true story of Joseph and his brothers.  We remembered that Jesus is with us!  We are never alone!

Happy Friday!  We began our day outside.  It was a little bit chilly this morning.  Since we go outside early in the morning, please feel free to being a light jacket for your child.

Back in the classroom we popped some popcorn!

"Will the red ones pop red?"

"Why are they different colors?"

"It's popping!"

"Be careful!  It's hot!"

"How does it pop?"

"It needs the oil, right?"

We compared the popcorn.

This was a natural writing opportunity.  I wrote down what the friends said, and noticed that some friends were gathering paper to do the same.

As they were writing, one of the friends began asking other friends if they like popcorn...

and graphed the responses.  Other friends followed suit!

Exploring the letters during free choice time

The friends wanted to hang their graphs in the classroom - so we did!

We then read this funny book about popcorn.

During Jesus time we reviewed that Jesus is always with us and He loves us very much!

This morning was a little cooler than we expected! We walked back inside to grab our jackets! Because we go outside first thing in the morning, please send a light jacket in for your child if needed.

During small group time we continued to practice sorting.

"I am putting all of the dark ones in this part and the yellow ones over here."

"I am making a plan first before I sort the seeds."

With Ms. Marks the friends explored the letters in their names.

Free choice time

"I made a frog!"

"I made a map to my house!"

During Jesus time we learned that Jesus is with us always!
Even though we can't see Him, He is always there!
