During Jesus time we acted out the story of the men on the road to Galilee.

JESUS IS ALIVE!

We then sang the He's Alive song!

Sadly, I forgot to take my phone with me outside.  :( We were able to run on the field and go on a short bird walk.

These friends noticed a problem with the tree in the classroom and fixed it without being asked.  This shows that they are taking responsibility for the classroom environment.  This is an important skill that will benefit the friends throughout their lives.

Making houses for the birds in the blocks

Although the friends cannot conventionally read the words in the books, they are learning important concepts of print including print orientation, context clues from the pictures, and fostering the love of books.

Exploring the bird seed

Signing up for a turn with the bird seed provides a meaningful writing opportunity.

"We found a red-winged black bird in this book!"

The friends worked hard to make a poster to celebrate Week of the Young Child.  Some of the friends came with me to help hang the poster.

You can see it in the narthex!

Second outside time

We listened to the birds and differentiated the different songs they sing.  This increases our attention to detail.

We then had sing time outside!

Free choice time
