We had a little change of schedule today, but the friends did a great job!

We had a quick morning free choice so we could go practice our songs for Sunday.

Practicing our songs

Sara was our library helper today!  Thank you Sara for reading to our class!

Before Mrs. Norman, the veterinarian, visited, we voted whether we wanted more free choice time or to go outside.  The majority of the children voted for more free choice time.

Thank you Mrs. Norman for visiting our class!!  We learned so much!

During Jesus time we reviewed the bronze snake story.  We learned that God takes care of us!  He gave us salvation when He died on the cross and rose again!

Ga-ga ball!

Second free choice

These friends problem solved together how to share the money.  They counted it out to be sure that each friend had the same amount.  They put their social skills as well as their math skills (one to one correspondence, counting,  comparing)!

This is a great example of why free choice play is an important part of our day.  The friends have the opportunity to practice skills they have learned and learn new skills.  Because they are initiating and investing the learning through their play, it is actually more meaningful to them.

Board games!

During small group time we practiced writing letters.

We also read some big books!

With Mrs. Zwettler, we practiced comparing numbers using only the numeral.
