Happy Wednesday!

We had a shorter free choice time this morning because we went to chapel.  :)

During chapel Mr. Huntington shares with us that God gives us what we need.  He does not give us rocks to eat, but He has blessed us with food, home, and a school.  The best gift He gave us is the gift of salvation.

Outside time

In line for the monkey bars.  The friends love the monkey bars!

During small group time we observed some veterinarian tools.
(Thank you Lynch family!)
We discussed what we thought the tools were used for, drew pictures of the tools, and explored the tools.

With Mrs. Zwettler the friends compared dogs and people.  We used a Venn diagram to organize our information.

With me, the friends collected information about different pets.

The graph asked the question, "What kind of pet do you have?"

This graph has more responses than the graphs we have done in the past.  The friends were able to use one to one correspondence and beginning reading skills to complete the graph.  They have learned so much already!

Second outside time

Second free choice

The friends had a great time exploring and using the new vet supplies/tools!

Making letters on the geoboards

During second small groups, one group continued to play in the vet area.  The friends are asking questions about veterinarians as they play.  I am documenting these questions to guide our learning.

Another group taught Mrs. Lipsey how to record information on a graph.  The ability to teach someone else a skill allows us to see if the children understand the material and expectation. In this case, this shows us their understanding of graphing.

With me, the friends compared various things and I documented their thoughts on a Venn diagram.
