We had a great day in Pre-K!

Creating in the creation station

Legos are a great way to strengthen fine motor skills as well as engage in creative thinking and problem solving.

The friends love the dog bone counting game!  :)

Making an "open" and "closed" sign for the vet office.

During free choice, some of the friends were arguing about whether or not we should allow people in the animal cages.  We decided to take a vote at morning meeting.

After we discussed the results of our vote, we worked together to write rules for our vet office.  These rules are all from the children with no prompting from any adult.  They are learning how to be safe and keep others safe as well!

In the gym we played Mr. Fox Mr. Fox, Moses Moses, and Dead Cow Live Cow Sleepy Cow.

During small group time we webbed what we know about vets.  When we were done, we played Little Mouse!

We did the playdough mats independently.

Finally, we practiced counting, one to one correspondence, and number recognition as we "fed" the dog "bones."

During Jesus time we reviewed that we will break God's commandments.  We learned that no matter what, Jesus will always love us!

Indoor recess today!

During small group time we drew pictures of veterinarians and veterinarian offices.  This activity helps us to see what the children already know.  We will compare these drawings to drawings of veterinarian/veterinarian offices at the end of the project.

We also independently played the dog bone game.  This game increases counting, one to one correspondence, and number recognition. It also helps develop important social skills such as taking turns.

We played another game with Mrs. Lipsey that helps strengthen foundational math skills.
