Wednesday, September 16

It's a great day in school!

This morning we danced to one of my favorite songs: It's Good Day!  Here is the link to the song if you want to dance to it at home!

After pictures we went to the hill!  The friends cerated this game where one friend sits at the top of the slide, another friend sits at the bottom, and the friend at the top rolls a ball to the friend at the bottom.  When the ball hits the friend at the bottom, the friend takes it and goes to the top of the hill while the other friend goes down the slide and waits for the ball.  We might have to write down the rules to this game for other classes!

One of the friends wondered why moths only fly at night.  We did some research in our books, but we could not find the answer!  The books only told us that they fly at night.  We will continue to research the answer to this question!

Working in the outdoor classroom

"We need a stabilizer over here!"

"Okay I will be the counter."

We incorporate writing into our play! If you are curious as to how you can incorporate writing at home, check out this article here!

The friends problem solved together the issue of the towers continually falling down.  They used the ruler blocks to stabilize the towers.

"Will it stay?"

"It is stabilized!  Now let's count!"

Taking notes

After lunch we practiced writing our names.

We also looked for our clipboards to continue our work.

One of the friends found a caterpillar.  We were curious as to if it was dead or not.

"When it touch it, it doesn't move."

We noticed so many moths flying up from the grass.  We all tried to catch one for further investigation.

I caught one, but unfortunately I was not careful enough with the wings.  :(  Due to the moth not being able to fly away, we were able to closely observe the fluffy antennae!

We then checked on the caterpillars.  The friends noticed right away that there was a difference from yesterday!

"Wow!  They got fat!"

I am hopeful that we are able to observe their metamorphosis in their natural environment!

After rest we did some word work, observed the caterpillars, and made a countdown for when the caterpillars will come out!
