Thursday, September 10

This morning Pastor Matt reminded us of the true story of Noah and the Flood.  Just as God saved Noah and his family, God also saved us by sending Jesus to die on the cross and rise again!

Thank you for bringing in pieces of environmental print!  If you have not been able to do it yet, please check your child's backpack for a ziplock bag with a note about environmental print.  Thank you!

We then played Doggy Doggy - a favorite game of the friends!

Working on the hill

In the outdoor classroom the friends worked to describe the changes from a caterpillar egg to a butterfly/moth.  They researched in books too!

Some of the friends wanted to create a representation of what we have been learning.  Children express their knowledge in many different ways!  We honor the many ways that children express what they know by providing varying opportunities for expression.

Some of the friends chose dramatic play.

"I know this is my name.  I see the B."

Our friends are readers!  Although they can't read conventionally yet, they are learning the foundational skills they need to read conventionally when they are ready!

After lunch we went to the music garden!  Unfortunately I forgot to take picture of our explorations there.  :(

After rest time we explored inside the classroom.  We observed the caterpillars.  Many friends predicted that the caterpillars are going to make their chrysalis tonight!

"I made a chrysalis for the butterflies!  It's a triangle one!"
