Thursday, September 24

This morning our DCE Mr. Joel Marquardt led our chapel.  He shared with us that God provides for us!

Back in the classroom, we were excited to check on our butterflies.  The friends are curious to see if the one with the crinkly wings will be able to fly.  The friends were patient and waited to see.

How exciting it was when we saw the butterfly with the crinkly wings fly!

Outside time

After snack we read this book.  We talked about how sometimes we all feel grumpy.  We also discussed that it is okay to feel grumpy, but it is not okay to be rude to others when we feel grumpy.  We then talked about a few things that we can do when we feel grumpy.

We can say, "I need some alone time" and then go to a quiet space to pray.

We can also say, "I need help to not feel grumpy.  Can you help me?"

Jesus says He's always with us and always loves us!  No matter if we are grumpy, angry, sad, etc.  He love for us never fails!  We sang a song to remind us of that fact.

We stayed inside the classroom to work on our butterfly wings and observe our butterflies before we have to say bye bye butterflies tomorrow.

"I think it is this kind of butterfly.  See the wings?  They look similar."

Working on butterfly wings

I noticed that the friends were pretending to be butterflies in the dramatic play area.  I gathered some items to support their play.

"These flowers can be like a butterfly garden!"

The friends went to work to design the garden.  They worked together to create a garden space for butterflies and moths.

We then made a list of the items that we still need for our butterfly garden.  The friends generated the list and they were eager to help write it!

After lunch we practiced writing our names.

We then checked on the caterpillars.  Unfortunately we do not see any cocoons or chrysalis.
We will keep looking!
