Thursday, September 3

We began our day in God's house with chapel!

"I was glad when they said to me let us go to the house of the Lord!" Psalm 122:1

Pastor Matt shared with us how Jesus raised His friend Lazarus from the dead.  We then looked at some superheroes and Pastor Matt told us that the only person who is a real superhero is Jesus.  Jesus is powerful!  His death and resurrection has given us life eternal with Him!

Back in the classroom we read this book together.  We compared the students in the story to our experience with caterpillars and waiting for them to complete metamorphosis!

Playground

Our friends are learning where their body is in relation to the items / people around them.  They are learning to keep themselves safe around the swings by running far enough around so that they do not get hit.

Then we went out to the hill!  We brought our moth to possibly collect food for it.

After snack we Zoomed with our friend Esther who has been at home!

We researched the difference between moths and butterflies.

We then went to the outdoor classroom to work.

While we were in the outdoor classroom, God provided a perfect caterpillar for us to explore and observe!

We watched how it moves it whole body to walk.

We then saw a butterfly on one of our flowers!

Mrs. Dieckamp went to get a jar for the caterpillar and the friends worked to find it some food.  We referenced the books to remember what caterpillars ear!

After lunch, we practiced writing our names and explored counting concepts including one to one correspondence (attributing one number per item).

It was then time for our nature walk!

After rest time we worked in the classroom to observe and compare the caterpillar that we found in the outdoor classroom to the one that we received in the mail.
