Welcome back!  I pray that you had a relaxing Labor Day weekend.

A huge thank you for all of the special donations for our classroom.  We not only have a great class, but we also have great parents in our class!  :)

A special thank you to Mrs. Zwettler and Mrs. Lipsey who were our photographers today!

The friends were all excited to be back together today.  I listened to the friends resolve their conflicts independently as they created together in the blocks.

Our friends love to create at the creation station!  This area provides opportunities for meaningful writing as well as fine motor growth and creativity.

During morning meeting time, Leighton, the attendance helper, counted the friends to ensure that everyone was present.  (This also helps us practice meaningful counting!)

We counted 18 children in our class.  The friends stopped the magic star (Thank you Pagan family!) when it landed on the number 18. This helps number recognition as well as self regulation as the children can't shout until the star stops on the 18.

Outside time

As I set up for small group time, Mrs. Zwettler read this story to the friends.

During small group time, we collected spider webs.  We then drew pictures of the collected webs.  We noticed that all of the webs were different!

We also practiced writing with our write and wipe boards.

Finally, we worked together in the blocks.

During Jesus time, we learned the story of Noah and the Flood.  We learned that God keeps His promises!

Second outside time

During second free choice time the friends once again worked together and resolved conflicts independently.  Positive conflict resolution is a skill that will benefit the friends throughout their lives!

During second small group time, we went for a walk to see what different webs we could see.  We took our book to use a reference.  We found a sheet web, an orb web, a tangled web, and a funnel web!

When we returned to the classroom, we discussed about the walk.  We engaged in a conversation about the webs to increase language development.
