This morning many of the friends worked to create binoculars. Many friends wanted to make them, so I sat down with a few friends and we wrote instructions for the binoculars.

Collaborating in the blocks.  The children are working hard to resolve their own conflicts in a positive way.

Elijah wrote letters for his friends and family!

Mrs. Lipsey took the friends outside while I had a meeting.

During small group time, we extended the sticker activity from yesterday.  The friends rolled a dice and put that many stickers on the graph paper.  This activity promotes one to one correspondence, quantifying, and counting.

The friends then created with the craft sticks and clothespins while I worked with the children one on one for assessments.

Mrs. Lipsey and the friends worked to write letters in shaving cream.  This is a fun sensory activity that also promotes letter recognition and letter formation.

During Jesus time we reviewed the story of Jacob and Esau. We learned the next part of the story.  Jacob fled his family because he was afraid of Esau.  We learned that God gave Jacob a beautiful dream about angels climbing up and down stairs to heaven.  God told Jacob that He forgives the bad choices Jacob made. We discussed how we all make bad choices.  We learned that like Jacob, God forgives our sins each and every day,  He sent Jesus to die on the cross and rise again to wash away all of our sins!

After lunch and quiet time, we headed back outside.

The friends were very creative at second free choice time.

During second small group time the friends practiced making letters with the Wiki sticks.

The friends also played at the train table while I worked with the friends one on one.

With Mrs. Lipsey, the friends painted with their fingers on foil.  This activity is a fun creative outlet as well as a sensory experience.
