We had a great day in Pre-K!

Morning free choice was filled with purchasing tickets for the upcoming magic show.

Of course we learned and created in the trains, blocks, and creation station too!

We enjoyed the beautiful fall weather outside too!

We found a beetle.  Looks like a good lunch for a spider!

Back inside, we voted for a spider that we thought would eat the beetle.

During small group time, we practiced ordering numbers 1-10.  Once the numbers were ordered, the friends put a ten frame card on the bottom and counted out that amount of unifix cubes.  This strengthens number recognition, orderings, counting, and one to one correspondence.

The friends had fun coloring with crayons that were taped together!  This also strengthens fine motor skills.

Finally, the friends took turns observing the spiders and coming to complete assessments with me.

During Jesus time we reviewed the story of Jacob and his dream.  We role played various scenarios that are good choices and bad choices.  We thanked God for forgiving our bad choices!

After lunch and quiet time, we enjoyed the beautiful weather outside.

Back in the classroom, the friends had so much fun creating at the creation station.  At the creation station, the friends are engaging in creative thinking and fine motor skills.

As some of the friends were observing the spiders.  We had a discussion about moving the grasshopper to the egg carton.  The friend said, "There is more room in the egg carton.  The jar is smaller."

We had a discussion about why the friends thought the jar was smaller.  We decided to test this during small group time.

We predicted which one had more and provided ideas of how to test and see which is bigger.

We also continued the game from the morning that increases number recognition, ordering, one to one correspondence, and counting.

We also played in the movie theater.

As a whole group we discussed our predictions about how to test and see which container has more space.

We decided to put water in each container and see which had more.

The friends discussed that they were concerned that there were holes in the egg carton and some of the water came out.  We discussed why this would affect the results.  We decided to test again tomorrow with an egg carton that has no holes.
