Even though it was a rainy, dreary day, we had a great day in pre-k! 

We are so thankful that God put Mary in our class!  

Happy Birthday Mary!  

Ezra made a compass for our classroom.  Look at all we can do with good junk! :) 

Mrs. Lipsey caught a grasshopper in extended care yesterday.  Mrs. Lepley found a big spider for us too!  I wonder what will happen in this jar...

Although we are in the final phase of our spider project, we still love to observe the spiders and insects.  We will probably have some in our science area throughout the school year. 

Mr. Borcherding, our worship director, led chapel today. He shared with us that angels are more fierce than we typically imagine.  That is why when angels approach people in the bible the first thing that they said was, "Do not be afraid."  Even though angels are powerful, our God is even more powerful!  He saved us from our sins when He sent Jesus to die on the cross and rise again!  

After chapel the friends noticed a faint rainbow in the sky!  We remembered that God keeps His promises! 

We had fun in the gym playing games and exercising our large motor skills. 

During small group time, we extended our sticker and graph learning from the week.  The friends worked in groups to graph numbers 1-10.  On the graph paper the friends identified the number and counted out the same amount of stickers next to the number.  This activity helps us strengthen our understanding of one to one correspondence, working together, number identification, and counting.

We also practiced writing letters in salt! 

Finally, we extended our creating with craft sticks and clothespins by adding small plastic cups.  The friends created more intricate structures.  They also worked to share the materials.  

Due to the rainy weather, we had indoor recess which means extra time for free choice!  

Many of the children chose to write letters in the sand.  This is a fun, kinesthetic way to practice writing letters! 

The creation station was full of activity as well. 

Some of the friends made a scavenger hunt to find some spiders that they created. 

Other friends put on a magic show!  Tickets were just 5 cents.  

During second small group we again created with the craft sticks, clothespins, and cups.  

We worked in partners to make a new graph from the morning.  You might be wondering why do the same activity twice?  We do the same activity many times, and sometimes in different ways, because practice helps us to learn!
