The friends were excited to play on our spider web carpet this morning!

Some of the children made their own race car- complete with a gas pedal! (Should we be concerned that there is no brake?  ;) )

I am truly thankful for the opportunity to work with your children each day!  I am blessed to spend my days with these sweet faces!

Today I couldn't remember where to start writing my letters.  The friends helped me remember that we always start our letters at the top!  We sang a song about it to help us remember!  You can ask your child to sing the song for you at home too.

Outdoor play

Mrs. Zwettler read us a story while I set up for small groups.

With me, the friends worked together to make a web out of sticks!  Tomorrow each group will work together to decide if we will paint the webs they made or add yarn.  The children are learning collaboration and flexibility in thinking as they learn to sometimes accept their peers' ideas rather than their own.

We also practiced balancing as we played the save the spider game with Mrs. Zwettler.

Ms. Jen came to help in our room today!  She helped the friends as they drew a spider web with a white crayon and then painted on the top.  The paint didn't stick to the white crayon so we can see the web underneath.

During Jesus time we took turns acting out the story of Noah and the flood.  We remembered that God keeps His promises!

After lunch and quiet time, we went to go outside.  It began to rain just as we were walking to go outside, so we turned around and went back to the classroom.  We decided to have extra free choice time.

Some of the friends wanted to say a prayer to keep us safe in the rain, so we did!  We can talk to God anytime about anything!

Second free choice time.  So much learning happens during free choice time.  The children are learning how to resolve their conflicts, problem solve, and regulate their emotions and desires.  (Not to mention the academic learning that emerges from the children's play)

Which tower is taller?

During second free choice I pulled some of the friends aside to work on formal assessments one on one.  Assessments are an important in order for us to see where the children are excelling and areas that we need to improve.  This helps us design our activities to meet the children's unique needs.

During second small group time, we practiced writing with the write and wipe boards.  The friends love these boards!

As the children wrote on the white boards, I pulled them aside one on one to complete the assessments.

We also had fun digging and exploring the cloud dough.

We worked on our rainbows with Mrs. Lipsey as well!
