Happy Birthday Ezra!  We thank God that you are in our class!

The friends enjoyed exploring some of the new puzzles in the classroom! Puzzles increase spatial relationship skills as well as problem solving skills!

Movie theater play

Look how intricate our block structures are becoming!

We also explored the number cards and marbles!

We strengthened our fine motor skills as we opened the straws in the sensory table. We will safely use scissors to cut the straws once they are all open! This is a fun way to strengthen fine motor skills and practice with scissors.

We love to create!

Playing outside is a favorite part of our day!

During small groups we explored the pine cones, rocks, balance, and scale.  The friends deepened their learning from yesterday as many of them were able to balance the scale.  They documented their learning on clipboards.

We also dictated what we have learned about spiders and created a special name tag for our birthday chart!

Mrs. Zwettler took her group outside to collect spiders, webs, and insects that spiders eat.  The Lord blessed us and provided an egg sack for the friends to collect!  As they were collecting it, the egg sack hatched into spiderlings!  The friends were able to observe the life cycle of a spider firsthand!

During Jesus time we read the story of Abraham and Sarah.  God promised that they would have a baby, and they did!  God keeps His promises!  He kept the most important promise to us when He promised to send a Savior and He sent Jesus to die and rise again!

Second outside time

Look what we found!

During second free choice many of the friends created and practiced writing!

During second small groups we worked to make an arch like the one on the screen.

We finally were able to cut the straws.  Mrs Lipsey was right there with the friends, and we practiced scissor safety.  We learned to be very careful!

Finally, the friends acted out the Very Busy Spider.  They "read" many parts of the story by using the pictures for clues.  This is an early reading skill!
