Happy Friday! There will be no school on Monday, September 5th.  If you are looking for a place to worship this weekend, come visit Our Shepherd!  We have services at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00.  There are two Sunday school times available as well (8:30 and one at 9:45).  If you are looking for someone familiar to sit with at Our Shepherd, let me know what service you are going to.  I would be happy to sit with you!  :)

We love the blocks!

Some of the friends put on a puppet show for us this morning!

Thank you Mrs. Davis, Dominicks's mom, for reading to us in the library today!

What a beautiful day to enjoy God's creation outside!

Many of the friends were playing "drive the car" under the picnic table.  They were showing God's love to each other as they invited their friends to join.  It became pretty crowded under there, so we decided to abandon the "car" for now.  :)

During small group time, the children worked with me.  I assessed some of the skills we have been working on including rhyming and clapping out syllables.

We also strengthened our fine motor skills as we played with the play dough.  Strong fine motor skills are necessary for doing small tasks including writing, tying shoes,

We also colored underneath the table!  This activity increases large and fine motor skills!

During Jesus time we discussed how our sins and yucks choices make our heart dirty.  We then discussed how Jesus washes all of our sins away!  We thanked God for sending Jesus to pay the price of our sins when He died and rose again.

We love the nice weather!  :)

Coming back in from outside time, we saw our 8th grade buddies.  It is so fun to see the Pre-K friends and the 8th graders together.

Second free choice time

During small group time, I worked with the children one on one to begin some formal assessment.  Formal and informal assessment is key to see where each child's strengths are and how we can best adapt our teaching and activities to meet each child's unique needs.

Mrs. Zwettler worked with the children in a comparison game.  We practiced using words such as less, more, and equal.

Independently, the children worked to write on the white boards with the special markers.
