The friends worked hard to build an arch in the blocks this morning!

Karissa worked with the new clothespins and craft sticks to create.  This area not only engages children in creative thinking and problem solving, but also strengthens their fine motor skills.

Some of the teachers helped collect a spider we found this morning.  The friends wondered what kind of spider it was, so we did some research and compared the spider to images we found.  We discussed what was the same and what was different about our spider and the spider on the computer.

Jordan decided to draw the spider to help us decide what kind it is.

"Say cheese!"  Thank you for all of the good junk that is enhancing our play!

Our spider from Friday started eating the stink bug in his jar this morning.  It was quite interesting to watch!

Due to the rain, we went to the gym this morning.  We played fun games and strengthened our large motor skills.

During small group time we made labels for our artwork from Friday with Mrs. Zwettler.  We also made more stars for the artwork.

We read books!  While the friends were reading, I called them over one at a time to do some formal assessments. Assessments (formal and informal) are essential in early childhood education because help us know how we can best meet each students unique needs.

We strengthened our understanding of one to one correspondence as we worked to fill the graph paper.  We used one sticker for each box!

During Jesus time we learned the story of Jacob and Esau.  We learned that just like Jacob, we all make bad choices.  We learned that God will always forgive our bad choices!  He sent Jesus to die on the cross and rise again to save us from our sins!

Second free choice was full of creativity!

During second small group time Mrs. Zwettler worked with the friends to recognize and write letters out of Wiki sticks.  This helps them describe how to form the letters, and in turn help the friends as they write letters.

We also created with the clothespins and craft sticks.

The final group created in the blocks as I worked with the friends from the group one on one for assessments.
