We had a great first day of school!
The friends checked in by signing their names. Each day we will practice writing our names as we check-in. :)
We then read books on the carpet as we waited for all of our friends to arrive.
We listened to the morning announcements, sang a hello song, and read a book about the beginning of a new school year.
We then went to chapel with our 8th grade chapel buddies!
Pastor Lepley led chapel this morning. He shared with us that Jesus is our strong tower. He saved us through His death and resurrection. Jesus loves us so much!
Back in the classroom, we prayed for snack.
Snack time!
The friends were already showing God's love to each other as they helped open each others bottles, packages, etc.
We then cleaned up our snack and transitioned to small group time. This week, the main goal during small group time is to learn our classroom environment and routines. (Although there is only one picture of each small group, all friends and a turn to rotate through all three.)
The friends explored the writing center.
They also explored the block area.

After small group time, we transitioned to free choice time.

We then had time to explore in our outdoor classroom!
Back in the classroom, we had morning meeting. We introduced ourselves to each other and shared how happy we are to be here together!
After morning meeting, the friends enjoyed lunch time. :) We worked on cleaning up our own messes and staying in our seat while we eat.
Before rest, we read this fun book together.
During our afternoon meeting we took a moment to reflect on all we have done today and shared our favorite parts of the day.
