This morning our puppet friend Zippy came to visit again.  He shared with us how his dad built a house and made many mistakes.  However when God made the world, He didn't make any mistakes!  Our God is perfect and He makes us perfect through the death and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ!

Gym time

In the gym we were very intrigued by a spider that we found.  We found a jar and put the spider in a jar to observe.  Back in the classroom, we discussed what we noticed about the spider.

During small group time we graphed our hair color.

We discussed what things make us frown with Mrs. Dohrman.  We will refer back to this list as the year progresses.

Independently, the friends continued to string beads to strengthen their fine motor skills.

Free choice time

We found another spider in the bathroom, put it in a small jar on a plate, and observed the two spiders side by side.

The friends started reading books to the spider.

Problem solving in the blocks

Taking notes

One of the friends wanted to draw a picture of the spider, but couldn't see it.  Another friend found a mirror to reflect the image of the spider so the friend could see.  What great problem solving!

"I'm writing all of the things I see and letters."

I put out some insects and matching cards in various places in the classroom.  This friend independently found a lady bug and the matching card.

During morning meeting we sang along to this silly book.  :)

Second free choice

We continued to explore the spider.  The friends brought other insects over so the spider could have friends. :)

We discussed the differences and similarities between these two beetles.  We used comparison words such as bigger and smaller.  We counted the legs and noticed that the number of legs are equal!
