We also read this big book again.  It is good for children to read the same book multiple times.  

We had so much fun running and playing together on the playground today! 

We were very intrigued by the grasshopper that came to visit us on the playground!  It is important to make time to allow children to express curiosity and wonder about the world around them.  

One of the friends fell on the playground.  Another friend came to give her a hug.  We are already learning how to care for one another! 

Outdoor classroom fun 

During story time today, Mrs. Dohrman read Shubert's Big Voice.  This book shares the importance of expressing our emotions with words.  I encourage you to do this at home with your child.  Help your child recognize how he/she is feeling, and then model how to express it with words. 

During small group time we were excited to explore shapes and spatial relationships with the magnetic tiles.

We also expressed wonder about our world at the wonder window. 

We explored properties of weight in the science area. 

We built tall towers in the blocks too! 

Free choice time

Many of the fiends chose to continue activities from small group time. 

The friends began taking orders for their restaurant.  This was a great time to engage in meaningful writing practice! 

During afternoon meeting we sang songs and finger plays to increase our phonemic awareness skills.
