Today during Jesus time we remembered that God made us in His image.

"I have called you by name.  You are mine." Isaiah 43:1

In your child's folder today you will find a paper to help you review the Jesus time story with your child.

After Jesus time, we had fun running in the gym!

Back in the classroom we sang songs with the guitar.

During small group time we continued to work on our names.

We also wrote the days of the week and months of the year for our calendar.

The friends then added details to the dates to help us know what is coming up in the calendar.

During Jesus time one of the friends asked if she could pray. I shared with her that we can pray to God anytime!  He always listens to our prayers! She then proceeded to pray!

Free choice time

Our friends are creating play scenarios for each other.  It is important for children to not only learn how to work together, but also plan their play.  Planning play is one way children can develop executive function skills.  (Want to know about executive function skills?  Click HERE

"Look!  We made a 6!"

During morning meeting we wrote our prayer requests for today.  I modeled letter formation and sounding out words for the friends as I wrote.  This is something you can do at home with your child too.

During afternoon meeting we sang finger plays and songs to increase phonemic awareness.

During second free choice the friends used creative thinking to create with loose parts.

Exploring and describing the rocks

Working together to cook :)

We are independent!

I worked with the friends one on one during free choice time on name writing and letter formation.
