We began our day with chapel!

Our DCE intern, Joel Marquardt, led our chapel today!  He shared with us Psalm 23 and hoe God provides for our greatest need for salvation!

We also celebrated Baptism Birthdays from July and August today!

During small group time we created with the pattern blocks.  Pattern blocks increase foundational math skills!

With Mrs. Zwettler, the friends worked to re-tell the story Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash

With me, the friends worked to make a number line for our classroom.  We allow the children to do it so that they take ownership of the classroom.  A number line created by the children is also more meaningful to them.  They are more likely to notice it since they had an active part in making it.  :)

We worked on one to one correspondence as we counted out the number of cotton balls.  We practiced identifying numbers.  We also strengthened our fine motor skills as we worked hard to squeeze the glue bottle!

Outside time

Free choice time

Some of the friends wanted to continue to use the cotton balls, so we exercised our fine motor skills together!

We used a clothespin to pick up the cotton balls and put them in a cup.  We cheered each other on to see who could do it quickly!

During morning meeting we practiced beginning sounds as we played a game. We begin by using something familiar - the children's names!

"If you are in Pre-K and your name starts with (insert sound of the letter).

Jump on the carpet. Jump and jump and jump."

We also sorted the frogs different ways.

Some friends had a turn to sort them for the class.  We then had to guess how the friend sorted them!

Second outside time

There was a shark show during second outside time! :)

During small group time, the friends sorted and then guessed how each other sorted.  :)

We continued to work with pattern blocks.

We also wrote labels for our classroom! Our pencil grip keeps getting better and better!

The kitchen was busy during second free choice!
