During Jesus time we reviewed the story of creation.  We learned that sin entered into the world, but Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins!

Thank you Jen and Mr. Anderson for helping in the library this morning!

After library and snack, we enjoyed the beautiful weather outside!

The friends were very interested in the monkey bars today.  They are building muscle endurance as well as perseverance!

The friends were very creative in the creation station!  We removed the markers for a bit to encourage correct pencil grip.  :)

The friends wanted to read too!  They are learning important concepts of print such as tracking left to right and print carries meaning.  It also fosters of a love of reading!

We are learning to work together and resolve our conflicts.

Some of the phrases we use include:

"How many minutes until my turn?"

"Can we use it together?"

"You can have a turn when I am done."

This is a social skill that will benefit the friends throughout their lives!

During free choice time the friends also practice inhibitive control.  Inhibitive control is the ability to stop yourself from doing something that you want to do.  When children play, they practice inhibitive control.  For example, when the friends play "cat" and one of the children sticks to the role of "cat," that child has to find a way to play without walking or talking.

During morning meeting we practiced rhyming as we read funny books. We also practiced phonemic awareness with a fun game!

Outside time

During small group time we again practiced recognizing numbers as we stamped.

We also strengthened our fine motor skills again!

With me, the friends drew a beautiful picture.  We practiced pencil grip and pressure and we drew.

Free choice time

One of the friends chose to sort by color during free choice time!
