"I, the Lord, am your Savior."  Isaiah 60:16

During Jesus time today we learned how satan tricked Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.  We learned that because of sin, we need a Savior to save us!  We learned that Jesus is our Savior!  He died on the cross and rose again to save us from our sins!

During small group time, we explored shapes with pattern blocks.

With Mrs. Zwettler, we worked on a family portrait.

(If you have not sent in a 4x6 picture of your family, please do so this week.  Thank you!)

With me, the friends worked to re-tell the story of Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash.

We practiced rhyming, re-telling the story, and even worked our fine motor skills as we "hung up" the wash!

Gym tim with the preschool class!

Free choice time

One of the friends matched big books with little books!  The ability to determine matches is an important foundational reading skill.  :)

The friends are learning to work together and resolve their conflicts in a positive way!

The friends wanted to re-tell the story again!

Of course we read the book again during morning meeting!  This time we heard it on a CD!

We also practiced number sense with this finger play! Finger plays are a great way to develop language and foundational math skills.  When you are in the car, waiting in line at the grocery store, I encourage you to do a finger play with your child!

We also looked for things that were similar.  Can you see what is similar about these two friends' clothing?

Second outside time

During second small group time we painted with yarn!  This increases our fine motor control and strengthens those important muscles.

The friends then worked on sorting.  Sorting is an important math skill.  A child must learn how to sort before he/she can pattern.

With me, the friends worked to draw pictures for our alphabet!  We worked on beginning sounds as we worked!

Adding our pictures to the alphabet

During second free choice the friends were excited to see the new items on the alphabet.

During free choice time, I take notes and observations.  Many of the children wanted to do the same today! Modeling writing for children is a great way to encourage writing!

"Look!  I'm really happy!"

"And I'm really sad."

"But I am happy!"
