This morning we went to chapel with our 8th grade buddies!  As we walked in, we put our offering envelopes in the offering plate.  :)

Mr. Borcherding, our discipleship consultant, and the father of the other Mr. Borcherding - our music director, led chapel this morning.

He shared with us about the glory of the Lord.  Just like the sun was so bright during the eclipse that we had to wear glasses, the glory of the Lord is ten times brighter!

During small group time the friends cut out their creation paintings for our mural.

They also strengthened their fine motor skills by rolling out play doh, adding pipe cleaners in the play doh, and then stringing beads on the pipe cleaners.  Fine motor skills are important for many things including writing and tying shoes.

We also graphed our hair color!

Free choice time

During morning meeting we read a funny book called, Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash.  Our library helper helped hold the book.  :)

This book is great for engaging in rhyming practice too!

Second outside time

During second small group time, we practiced recognizing number as we stamped numbers.

We continued to strengthen our fine motor skills with the play dough and stringing beads.

With Mrs. Lipsey, the friends drew with colored pencils to practice pencil grip and pressure.  When you are at home, I encourage you to use colored pencils and/or crayons more often than markers.  Markers are great, but they do not require children to push hard like pencils and crayons do.  :)
