This morning we acted out the story of Adam and Eve.  We remembered that because of sin in the world, we need a Savior!  Jesus is our Savior!

We then sang the song, "You Forgive Me."

See if your child can sing this song to you at home over the weekend!

Thank you to our library helpers Mr. Matthews and Mr. Anderson!

It felt like a Fall day outside today!  :)

Huddling together to keep warm :)

During free choice time the friends were very interested in the letter magnets!

Some of the friends made a library in our classroom!

Although the friends can not read conventionally, they are learning important concepts of print while will provide a strong foundation for future reading!

They are learning print orientation, tracking print from left to right, and print carries meaning!

During morning meeting we voted about what our first Project would be in Pre-K.  We use the Project Approach as modeled by Reggio Emilia in Italy.  The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) encourages the use of the project approach for the hands on, meaningful learning that children experience.

"Children have a strong disposition to explore and discover. The Project Approach builds on natural curiosity, enabling children to interact, question, connect, problem-solve, communicate, reflect, and more. This kind of authentic learning extends beyond the classroom to each student’s home, community, nation, and the world. It essentially makes learning the stuff of real life and children active participants in and shapers of their worlds."   http://projectapproach.org

Second outside time

During second small group time we practiced the sorting skills that we learned this week!

We also created with the pattern blocks.

With Mrs. Lipsey we strengthened our fine motor skills with clothespins and pom poms.
