This morning in chapel Pastor Lesley shared with us how we can "put on" kindness and compassion for each other.  We discussed ways that we can show God's love to each other!

During small group time, the friends finished painting their pigs. :)

They also built houses in the blocks just like the Three Little Pigs

During gym time with the preschool, we had a lot of fun with the parachute!

Free choice time was filled with collaboration!  This is an important skill that will benefit the children throughout their lives.

During small group time we worked to identify a problem and brainstorm how we could solve it.

(Remember God did not give me the gift of drawing. ;) )

We looked at the picture below and I asked the children, "How can the dog get into the house?" Look at the second picture below to see some of our ideas.

We then discussed how these two children could get into their house.

Check out some of our ideas!

I encourage you to do the same at home with your child.  Help them identify a problem and then brainstorm how they can solve it.  Problem solving is a very important skill.

Second outside time

During small group time we expanded our creative thinking and problem solving.  I asked the friends to create a house out of cotton swabs.  They thought through how they could do it, and persisted when it became difficult.

The friends then drew a picture of their favorite part of the Three Little Pigs

With Mrs. Lipsey, the friends read the story The Three Little Pigs again.

One of the friends made a person with the cotton swabs!

We continued to build houses for the pigs during free choice time.
