Psalm 106:4 "Remember me, O Lord."

During Jesus time this morning we reviewed the true story of Noah and the flood.  We listened to a fun song that told us the story too!  We looked at a picture of the beautiful rainbow in Avon last night.  Our God, the only true God, keeps His promises!  God is faithful!

During small group time we made a handprint rainbow to remind us that God keeps His promises.

With Mrs. Zwettler, we used puppets to re-tell the story of Noah and the flood.

You might think the stick below is simply a craft stick, but it is actually a very special stick. This "reading stick" helps the friends track print as they read books.  :)

Learning that print has meaning and learning to track print from left to right are important concepts of print that lay a strong foundation for future reading.

Independently, the friends used "reading sticks" to track the print in the book.

With me, the friends worked to write letters in the sand.  We practiced starting each letter at the top and using correct letter formation.

As a whole group, we conned to decipher which item does not belong in a group.

Free choice time

Check out our block creations!  The friends collaborated to make structures.  They had to problem solve and resolve conflicts.  These are important social skills that will benefit the children throughout their lives.

Second outside time

During second small group time we used the reading sticks in the library.

With Mrs. Lipsey, we decided what item doesn't belong in the group.

With me, we practiced writing letters!
