"Beloved, we are God's children now!"  1 John 3:2

During Jesus time this morning we learned the story of God's promise to Abraham.  We leaned that sometimes we feel impatient when we have to wait for something.  We also learned that God kept His promise to send us a Savior and will keep his promise to bless us.  He knows what is best for us!

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we patiently wait for God to answer or prayers, trusting Him to keep His promises.

During small group time, we worked to color a piece of yellow butcher paper black.  We will use this paper to "scrape" stars into later in the week to remind us of the true story of God's promise to Abraham.

We also practiced identifying shapes with Mrs. Zwettler!

We are beginning a robot project!  The friends are very excited and interested in earning about robots.  We will use the project approach as modeled by Reggio Emilia.  You can learn more about the project approach HERE

The first thing we do in a project is see what the children already know about the subject.  This helps us best plan and adjust the project to best meet student needs.

Today the children answered the question; "What are robots?"

Gym time!

Running laps to build endurance

We then worked on our balance!

We also played Duck, Duck, Goose!

Free choice time

The friends were excited to make a sign to help change our kitchen into a Robot Workshop.  Because the children were excited and interested, this writing is more meaningful to them.  Meaningful learning engages more of the brain than simple rote learning.

During morning meeting we played a game to help us learn the different shapes.  A mouse was hiding under one of the shapes!  The friends chanted,

 "Little Mouse,
Little Mouse,
Are you in the _____ house?"

Second outside time

During second small group time we worked on the star artwork.

We also played a game called, "I have, who has?" to help our letter recognition.

We also played a shape bingo to help practice identifying shapes.

Free choice time

Some of the friends worked to identify and order numbers!
