We had a busy morning in pre- k today!

We started the morning with chapel.  Pastor Matt discussed with us about misunderstandings.  He wrote various things on a white board, and volunteers shared their first thought about the item.  )One example: He drew a big M.  Some people thought it was hills.  Others thought of m&m's.  Pastor Matt was thinking of McDonald's.)  After a few examples, he drew a cross.  He shared with us that one thing thing should never miscommunicated- Jesus' love for us!  We never have to doubt Jesus love!  He died on the cross and rose again to save us!

Back in the classroom, we had free choice while we waited for our turn to take pictures.

Exploring in the nature today, the friends noticed that there is something inside some of the seeds.  They brainstormed ways that we could figure out what is inside.

"We could use these big rocks and smash it!"

We might try that later on!

The friends worked together to create elaborate block structures.

Look at all of our sprouts!

The friends did a fantastic job waiting for their picture to be taken!  After pictures we had snack and some large motor dances in our classroom.

We finally then had our morning meeting.  :)  (It is great that we can be flexible in Pre-k.  :) )

We sang the hello neighbor song to continue to build our classroom community.

We also reviewed our letters with a fun game!

We counted the marbles to see how many were in the jar today.  13!

We then played around with numbers.  I took one marble away and asked the friends how many were left.  This lays a strong foundation for future math skills including subtraction.

We then played a game to increase our recall.  You probably have played this game, and it would be a great game to play in the car with your child!  In the game, "I am going to grandma's house" each person lists an item that he/she will pack to take with him/her.  The next person lists what the all the people before him say before adding on.

During second free choice we noticed that some more of our seeds sprouted!

Some of the friends played church!

During second free choice we worked on our books.

We practiced recognizing numbers by playing number bingo.

We also practiced recognizing and writing our numbers with me.  :)
