Welcome back to another great week of school!

This week in Jesus time we are learning about when Jesus performed a miracle and fed over 5,000 people.  Our God is powerful!  He is so powerful that He rose from the dead to save us from our sins!

During small group time we strengthen our fine motor skills as we stringed buttons on yarn.  I encourage you to keep working on fine motor strength at home too.  :)

Mrs. Zwettler was home today.  We pray her daughter feels better soon!  Mrs. Bertoncini, the Spanish teacher here, helped out today!  (Thank you Mrs. Bertoncini!) The friends and Mrs. Bertoncini played a number Bingo to increase number recognition.

As the continue in the car project, the friends were extremely interested in the map of wires from Mr. Marsh on Friday.  Today, we continued investigating maps as we made a map of our classroom.  This lays a foundation for further learning about geography!

Gym time!  We continued to work on jumping jacks.

We then played Dead Cow, Alive Cow, and Sleepy Cow.  This silly game strengthens our core muscles!

We encouraged each other in a relay too.

Free play with the balls

The friends created their own game!

"Let's see how tall we can make the marble tower!"

"Hold it steady!  We don't want it to fall."

"I'm fixing this engine.  It is broken!"

The friends are developing fine motor skills, pre-reading skills as they label drawings and write letters, and problem solving as they figure out how to create something out of "nothing."

Collaborating in the mechanic shop

"Whoah!  Be careful!  The one side is heavy!"

As we explored in the marbles, some of the friends noticed that we can make shapes with the marbles!

"If you have four marbles, you can make a square."

"You need more to make a rectangle."

"With just three, you can make a triangle."

"You have a 5:00 appointment."

Exploring the ramp and then documenting how far the car rolled.

Second free choice

"Look I made a rhombus!"

Measuring how far the car rolled

During small group time we continued to strengthen our fine motor skills as we stringed buttons.

We practiced correct letter formation with Mrs. Helmkamp.

We also practiced recognizing numbers as we played Bingo!

With me, we practiced comparing numbers when presented as numerals.  We weighed the numbers too.  The heavier/bigger numbers weighed more!
