During Jesus time we reviewed the story of the Prodigal Son.  We sang a song to remind ourselves that even when we made a bad choice, God still loves us.

The friends are very interested in the jobs people do. Our car project has developed into a community helpers project.   During small group time we drew pictures of what we want to be when we grow up.  We drew the tools that they would need for that job as well.  The friends used their letter and sound knowledge to label their drawings.  I encourage you to do this at home with your children as they draw pictures to increase their pre-reading skills.

We also strengthened our writing skills as we wrote in our journals.

We continued to work on opposites with Mrs. Zwettler.

Independently the friends created in the blocks.

Gym time

During free choice time the friends were very excited to write letters for our new mailbox!

They worked to sound out the word mailbox to write for the mailbox.

They were excited to write letters to each other!  This excitement and engagement increases learning!

"Let's write our own morning message!"

During morning meeting, we worked to label the mailbox together.

We then read a book about mail.

Second free choice time

Writing letters to each other

We love the whiteboards!

"I made these free letters for everyone!"

During small group time we practiced recognizing letters and subitizing with a game.

We practiced opposites with Mrs. Lipsey.

We read books independently.

With me, we practiced segmenting and blending words.
