We are excited to welcome our new friend Gemma to our class!  Welcome Gemma!

Our friends were so kind to help Gemma feel welcome and loved right away.

During Jesus time we learned about the 10 Commandments.  We learned that rules are important to help us stay safe.  They also help us show God's love to each other!

During small group time we strengthen our fine motor skills with play dough.

Mrs. Zwettler and the friends explored patterns.  Patterning is a foundational math skill.

The friends also worked together to complete a large puzzle!

I worked with the friends one on one to complete some formal assessments.  These assessments, along with our informal assessments, provide information that help us understand how we can best help each child continue to learn and grow.

Outside time!

During free choice time, we signed up for the cash register.  We are making the lines on the sign up sheet a bit smaller.  This will help the children to form their letters smaller and increase fine motor control.

The Legos provide open ended opportunities for creativity and fine motor growth.

Working together in the market lends itself to explore mathematic concepts.

"How much is my food?"

(Pushes the six button) "Six dollars."

One of the goals of free choice time is for the children to engage in deep, rich play.  One of the identifiers of deep, rich play is planning play and assigning roles.

"Pretend I needed to buy some food."

"Yeah and then you wanted coffee but we were out of it."

I continued to work one on one with friends to complete assessments too!

During morning meeting we practiced patterning with our bodies!  We engaged in patterns such as slap, clap, slap, clap.

Second outside time

During second small group time we practiced our songs for church on Sunday.

Mr. Borcherding came to help us practice too!
