During Jesus time we learned our bible verse for the week.

"The Lord is a stronghold in times of trouble."  Psalm 9:9.

We sang a song to remind us that when we are sad, scared, or lonely (or any emotion) all we have to do is pray to God!

During small group time the friends created their own turkey.  They were only asked to make a turkey, and they chose how to make their turkey.  This helps the friends develop creative thinking and problem solving.

The friends read a book on CD independently.

With Mrs. Zwettler, the friends drew a picture of things that they are thankful for.

With me, the friends explored sink and float. They were able to choose classroom items and predict whether the item would sink or float.

During morning meeting we are working to write special messages together.  Today the friends helped me write the message below!

As we write together we are learning important writing skills such as spacing between words and the sounds of letters.

A few friends helped read out special message!  This increases concepts of print as the friends track the print from left to right.

We then read this funny book!  It sparked quite the discussion.

Me: "Friends, look at this picture. Do you think the pigeon needs a bath?"

"Yeah!  His wings are dirrrrrrrrrty!"

"He looks like he rolled in the mud."

"He has a dirty tail!"

In the book the pigeon asks the when the last time the reader took a bath. That led to a discussion of how often we bathe.

"Well I took a bath on Thursday because I was smelly."

"We take baths every morning."

"I take showers, not baths."

In this discussion the friends are learning how to manage a conversation when opinions are different then their own.  They are also learning that everyone is different, but that does not affect God's love for us.  No matter how often we bathe, God loves us all the same!

Second outside time

During second small group time we went to pack the Operation Christmas Child boxes.

We then prayed over the boxes and for the children that would receive them.
