During Jesus time this morning, our puppet friend Zippy came and talked to us about a time he had his favorite meal six times in a row!  It wasn't his favorite meal by the sixth time.

We learned that was like the Israelites in the desert.  They were tired of the same food rather than being thankful for the things they had.  We discussed that sometimes we are not thankful for the gifts God gives us.  We thanked God for His many gifts!

During small group time, we drew pictures of Jesus!

We practiced one to one correspondence and subitizing with Mrs. Zwettler.

We also read big books!

Gym time!

During free choice time we made a sign up sheet for the cash register.  This solved conflicts of whose turn it was on the register as well as provided an opportunity to practice writing.

We worked to make a sign for the cart return too!

Writing grocery lists

Finn led our schedule today during morning meeting!

We read this silly book too.

The friends then took turns reading the Jack-o-Happy poem.

Although they cannot conventionally read, tracking print from left to right and learning that print carries meaning are both important concepts of print that will strengthen future reading skills.

Due to the rain, we went to small group time early and had extra free choice.

During small group time we drew pictures and practice writing letters.

We also played chutes and ladders with Mrs. Lipsey.

We read books independently!

(Whoops!  I forgot to take pictures of the other two groups.  My apologies!)

Free choice time

As the friends were playing in the market, they are also practicing recognizing numbers!

"How much does that cost?"

"Let me see... 5!" (Pushes the 5 button)

Learning through play is the best!

Look how our friends help each other and show God's love!
