Happy Wednesday!

This morning in chapel we learned about where our chapel offerings are going in India.  We learned how our school is helping spread the love of Jesus in India!

Gym Time!

We practiced hopping

We practiced balancing.

We also threw frisbees!

During free choice time one of the friends worked to make another open sign for the market!

Literacy skills are naturally incorporated into play.

Some of the friends chose to make another turkey.  No direction was given other than "Can you make a turkey?"  The children designed and created their own turkey.  This increases their creativity!

I also asked the friends

"Can you make a boat and make it float?"

Many friends were excited to come and try.

First, the friends drew the design for their boat.  They worked to label the parts.  (Incorporating writing and letter sounds)

Lego creations

"Market is open!"

The friends then used their designs to build their boats.

Then we tested the boats!

During morning meeting the friends helped me write the morning message.  We worked to sound out the words, and I modeled leaving spaces in between words.  We discussed that when you start a new word, you leave a space.

We made a change to our jobs for the year.  We will now have a leader of the day.  The leader will help do classroom jobs as needed.

Due to the rain, we had indoor recess!

The friends loved the new puzzles.  These puzzles will help letter identification as well as letter sound correlation.

There friends used their knowledge of measurement to see how long the car is.

During small group time we cut out the thankful tree.

We explored sink or float.

We explored the new puzzles.

We then made signs for the market. :)
