Please add to our thankful tree.  :)

During Jesus time today we reviewed some of our favorite stories from the year so far.  We also sang songs in praise and thanksgiving to God!

Mrs. Zwettler's daughter is sick today, so Mrs. Dohrman helped out in our class today!  Thank you Mrs. Dohrman and please pray for Mrs. Zwettler's daughter.

During small group time the friends drew a picture of a turkey and dictated how to cook it.  This gives us a good language sample as well as a fun sneak peek into what the friends think.

The friends worked to identify numbers and count out the same amount of items.  This increase number recognition, one to one correspondence, and counting!

Independently, the friends read a book on CD.

With me, we measured a pumpkin using cube blocks! We practiced comparing, counting, and wiring numbers.

When we were done, the fiends used the blocks to measure other items!

We went to see the firemen who are training here at Our Shepherd today!

Then we went on an adventure walk.

Free choice time

The friends love the wonder window.  The wonder window increases fine motor strength as well as curiosity.  It helps the fiends learn how to formulate a question too!

Here are a few of our wonderings today:

"I wonder why are there no roses growing on the ground?"

"I wonder why the leaves are off the tree?"

"I wonder why the grass is green?"

Dominick worked to make a new Open sign for the market.

Exploring the rocks in the science area

During free choice time we work to our own solve problems.  Sometimes we need help.  We have a visual board to help the friends!

During morning meeting we tested to see if a pumpkin would sink or float.

It floats!

We discussed ways that we can make it sink.

"You can push it down."

"Once you let go though, it will bounce back up!"

We tested that prediction.

Second outside time

During second small group time we practiced ordering and counting!

We built in the blocks.

We made thankful turkeys with Mrs. Helmkamp.

We described the turkeys with me.

Second free choice
