Welcome back from Fall Break!  I pray that you had a restful break!

Today we thank God for Avery!  Happy Birthday Avery!

During morning free choice the friends were excited to see one another again.  We continue to practice using the positive conflict resolution skills we have been learning this year.  You can practice this at home too! Role play with your child about various scenarios.  For example: "What could you do if a friend takes a toy away from you?" Discuss options for your child to help them work through these situations.

Fall is here!

During small group time we used our Jesus time story (Israel in the desert from Exodus 16:1-17:7) as our inspiration!  We discussed that while the Israelites were in the desert, God took care of them by providing manna from haven.  We discussed how many pieces of manna each friend would need to take for his/her family.  We then counted out that number of manna.  Finally, we graphed our manna.  We will review this graph as a class!

We explored spatial relationships and shapes as we explored and created with the tangrams.

We also worked to make a poster of things that make us smile.  We will refer to this poster throughout the year when someone is sad!

During Jesus time we learned the story of Israel in the desert as mentioned above.
(We also learned that Mrs. Douglas does not have the gift of drawing  :)  See picture below. )

God provides for all of our needs.  He provided for our biggest need, the need for a Savior, when He sent Jesus to die on the cross and rise again for our sins!

Second Outside Time

The creation station was very popular during second free choice!

During second small groups we worked on making our door decoration for the door decoration contest. The friend strengthened their fine motor skills as we cut leaves for the door.  We also worked to color the tree trunk for the door decoration.  The finished product will look great!  :)
