We had a fantastic day in Pre-K!

The friends enjoyed playing with their "selfie sticks."  These are popsicle sticks that have the children's picture on them.  These sticks will help the children develop a positive self-identity.

Some of the friends worked to write the word ticket.  This was a great time to engage in meaningful writing as well as sounding out words.

Thank you to everyone who has donated books to our class from the book fair!  We love them!

We enjoyed the beautiful weather outside!

During small group time we worked on illustrating our Jack-O-Happy books. The finger-play helps increase phonemic awareness.  Research shows that children with a strong understanding of phonemic awareness are more likely to be strong readers.

We also weighed our pumpkin!  It weighs twenty pounds!  We documented that the pumpkin is 20 pounds by working to write the number 20.

We also painted a paper that we will use to help create our jack-o-lantern artwork.

During Jesus time we reviewed the story of Moses in the basket.  We learned that even though Moses had bad things happen to him, God still had a special plan for Moses.  Just like Moses, even if bad things happen to us, God has a plan for us. His ultimate plan was for our salvation.  He sent Jesus to die and rise again to save us!

During outside time, we found a spider eating an insect!

During second free choice the friends loved writing on the write and wipe boards.

They also made plans for their creations!

Movie theater fun!

During small group time we experimented with the scale.  We then stepped on the scale holding the pumpkin.  We discussed heavier and lighter.

We also wrote on the write and wipe boards.

With Mrs. Lipsey the friends painted with watercolors.
