This morning in chapel Pastor Lepley showed us a mosquito net, like they use in Africa.  He shared with us that God's love is like a mosquito net.  It covers us completely!

After chapel, we practiced singing our song for when we sing in church on January 22nd at 9:30.

Gym time!

During small group time we explored maps and continued to create building plans.

We also played and created in the blocks and house.

As a part of our Construction Project, the friends want to build a city in the dramatic play area.  We are looking at examples of cities to decide what to put in the city that we build in our classroom.  We first took a look at our city of Avon, and discussed what we saw when we drive to school.  The friends are learning beginning geographical concepts in this activity.  Furthermore, they are applying real life experience.  For example, some of the friends wanted to draw a tornado on our map because they saw a tornado when driving to school once.  One of the goals of early childhood education is to engage children's prior knowledge/experience and build upon it.  This activity allows us to do just that!

Indoor recess and second free choice

We hung up our map of Avon.  :)

During small group time we extended our balance practice by holding a geoboard while we balanced.

We practiced letter formation with Mrs. Lipsey.

With me, we practiced recognizing letters and their sounds.
