Wednesday, October 7

Our friends need extra support when resolving social conflicts with each other.  This is a difficult social skill that sometimes requires a lot of practice and support both at home and at school.  At school we practicing resolving social conflicts. We are also discussing or feelings and reading books about conflict resolution. Would you practice with your child at home as well?  I have included an article about conflict resolution HERE for your reference.

The friends, and their teachers, enjoyed the beautiful weather this morning!

We then went to the hill for more exploring!

During morning meeting we role played a few positive conflict resolution situations and how we can handle issues in our classroom.

We then went to the outdoor classroom for more opportunities to practice positive conflict resolution.

"Let's make a drum set!"

The friends made birthday cakes for each other.  :)

After lunch we went for a long run on the soccer field.

We then took a walk down to the pond and observed God's creation from a safe distance.  We saw butterflies and moths down by the pond too!  We sang, "Jesus says I'm with you" to remind ourselves that God is always with us!
